THE FARINAS
ITALIAN INNOVATION SINCE 1966
The tradition of brush making in the Farina’s family dates back to the early 20th century, in Lecco. Later on, during the period between the two World Wars, the second generation founded a company based in Lecco which, in addition to the traditional brushes, also produced hair curlers and bottle washers, wire brushes and disks for polisher machines.
In 1966, Augusto Farina quit the company and took over a former brush factory in Piacenza, whose main activity used to be the production of brushes made with the roots that the local population collected in the nearby riverbed. The roots were peeled, washed, dried, whitened, selected depending on their hardness and then used to produce brushes that were suitable for laundry, clothes, shoes, animals, barrels, etc.
From Lecco, besides his competence, Augusto Farina took with him a semi-automatic machine for the production of hairbrushes. Since then, the company has kept increasing its possibilities by always investing in new and high-tech machinery.
Today, the company distributes its products both in the Italian market and abroad, under the historical logo TreStelle, which marks a wide range of items. The brand Optima Professional was born in 1995, its aim being to gather all the series of brushes destined for professional use. Farina Augusto S.r.l.’s first choice has always been to realise all of its products entirely in Italy, in order to keep the competence in the hands of the family and to pass it down to the new generations. What we offer is the typical Italian know-how, original and guaranteed.
Optima Professional was born to meet the needs of professional hairstylists in Italy and around the world.
